“HOGARTH” на українській мові

By the early 1990s, now with an international following, Currie was turning out increasingly Hogarthian images, with more than a hint of Grosz.

Sure enough, no sooner had I arrived at the Phoenix than I spied Hogarthian scenes through the stained glass windows.

Moving on from his Hogarthian images of the early 1990s, the elements of caricature have disappeared, although he remains preoccupied with brutalisation.

They were Hogarthian drawings of slum buildings with broken windows stuffed with rubbish and derelict humans sprawled in the gutter, dead drunk among the filth.

The best examples of this Hogarthian characteristic are his mid-Nineties watercolours of National Trust properties, a commissioned series that includes Fountains Abbey lit up by fireworks.
